Story Behind The Song
Mark Fallis wrote the song about his relationship with his wife, and his bouts of depression. After demoing the song on cassette tape, he contracted MS which debilitated him to the point of not being able to play guitar. His singing was also affected, but seems to produce a melancholy tone to this song--recorded after his affliction. In order to break up the song a little, Michael Masuda introduced the middle instrumental portion, which adds a bit of prog-rock fun to the song--a little melodic "turnaround" against different rhytmic patterns in 4/4. Mark always loved prog rock, so this addition was in homage to him. The music was recorded very sparsely using mostly acoustic instruments, including a very retro-sounding custom kluged cocktail drum kit. Mark is doing better these days, but is still having a tough time with the affliction.

Lyrics
Turn Around Again
by Mark Fallis and Michael M. Masida
Addicted to the way she moves
Don?t need sayin that I?m the one she loves
Don?t waste my time with your remedy line
I?m at bottom and doing fine
Something made me turn around again
(Chorus:) By the time I feel fine I feel bold enough to bend
Something makes me turn around again
Every time I feel fine I feel well enough to win
Somethin? makes me turn around again
Somethin? makes me turn around again
My symptoms are the things she makes me see
Don?t mind tellin? you that?s the way it oughta be
Don?t waste my time with your freedom jive
I?m not sifting through sands of time
Something made me turn around again
Chorus
Instrumental break
My symptoms are the things she makes me see
Don?t mind tellin? you that?s the way it oughta be
Don?t waste my time with your freedom jive
I?m not sifting through sands of time
Something made me turn around again
Chorus
