Story Behind The Song
Recorded the little intro hook on my cassette recorder in my basement and lived with it for a while. It had a Paul Simon Graceland feel to it. I was looking for a phrase that was current and also summed up the feeling of how we have become more disconnected to each other in this crazy-paced life. "I feel ya" fit both criteria. It went from there.
Song Description
Upbeat, calypso/Carribean feel song with a strong message about human connection and the lack of it in today's world.

Lyrics
I FEEL YA
People used to talk to each other
Help a neighbor just like a brother
Like it was in my neighbor hood
Mom would make popsicle ice cubes
Everybody knew who was who
Back when I was small and life was good
Many winters many falls
We build fences just like walls
Robot through the day avoiding eyes
But if I take one look at you
See your spirit shining through
That is all I need to feel alive
CHORUS
I FEEL YA (4X)
Walking in the crowd downtown
Mr. Jones and Mr. Brown
Every day?s the same but they don?t know
If it was my video game
I would pause it at this frame
Make them stop and smile and say hello
I look out into the crowd
Thinking my thoughts right out loud
Searching for a way to keep it real
Looking right, looking left
Take the time to turn my head
Got to let you just how I feel
CHORUS
