Story Behind The Song

The German singer songwriter Eva wrote this song as a touching ballad for the Album "Sea of Dreams", a romantic collection of songs to be in and out of love and songs about life. "There is a Spirit" is beautifully orchestrated and the combination of Eva's peaceful soothing voice and beautiful attributions, for example the vivid pan flute, makes you feel serene and peaceful.The song llustrates Eva's liberal view about certain believes and aspects about "God" and making war in his name. Eva sees God as the creator of the whole world, of each human being on this world, loving each human being on this world, "The Spirit of Life, the God of Freedom, of Love and Understanding". The God who doesn't want people have religious wars. How can people kill their brothers and sisters? This song was written about the war in former Yugoslavia, when suddenly best friends and neighbours killed each other because one was muslim and one was christian. This is still the most common problem in the moment that people have no tolerance about other people's believes. This is the reason for most of the wars, terrorism. Some people believe in hatred, they don't accept any other believes besides their own. Religion should always preach peace. Churches are not supposed to support war, people should live peaceful together and everyone should have the freedom of his own believes.
