Earthwalker

Story Behind The Song

Some friends hitched a ride to St. Louis with us when we were out doing gigs. They then continued without us to California to hitch and walk around for a month or so. But as soon as we droped them off we missed them, so write, i did.

Song Description

One traveler is new to the game and is being taught the ways of a traveler by his experienced friend. Taking only pictures and leaving only footprints, yet still enjoying themselves with the bare necessities. Walking, hitching rides, seeing the world.

Lyrics

Earthwalker

Earthwalker, walk on day and night
Walk till you reach, what you seek to find
Earthwalker, you will make better time
If you use your thumb and hope to catch a ride

We headed to St. Louis, with a certain place in mind
The boys came along but could only stay for two days time
They were headed out west with their packs on their backs
With the freedom at their feet, they would cover their tracks
At the sight of him, I certainly knew
There was a hint of fear hiding in Drew
Where will we go, and what will we do
This is where we let you out; the rest is up to you.

Follow Cameron?s lead he?s five years ahead
Not yet quite the master, but he and the road have already wed
He is an Earthwalker and gets better everytime
Leave it all the way you found it and I know you?ll be fine

Earthwalker, walk on day and night
Walk till you reach, what you seek to find
Earthwalker, you will make better time
If you use your thumb and hope to catch a ride

They walked the west coast and hitched a couple of rides
Sat on the beach and watched the rising of the tides
They thought to themselves, we should do this even when we get old
Or when the winter comes and Indiana gets to cold
There?s no need to take a picture, it?s etched in my brain
So glad we?re finally here it?s even better that we came
At this rate I won?t want to leave
But the way I feel out here sets me completely free!
