get away

Story Behind The Song

Always seem to have a wall to get over and its a lemons/ lemonade and vodka things. just need a little more money to change my set of problems. lol. Just fun blue collar music but check out the pipes that Lisa Gregg reveals toward the end of the song.

Song Description

Person in song has a seriese of disruptive events that alters their plans. Does manage to meet a girl in the middle of the song and forms a relationship. The frustration really stems from trying to get over the hump but the way the world works is to try to keep you down. Of course I"m still working on the song that answers the question about if this guy makes it to where he wants to go. lol

Lyrics

wake up every morning at a quarter til 5
throw on some clothes and grap a coffee cup
you listen to the banter of y9our boss's deadlines
but the things you do dont seem to be enough,
when the bills are bigger than what you just got paid
These are the days when you just, gotta get away

Time of the year yourve been waiting for
the bags are packed and you lock the door
no phone lines or a schedule to keep
just the sun and a towel on a sandy beach
but the car breaks down as you pull away
these are days when you just gotta get away

So you trade your beach towel for a seat at the bar
lose yourself in a dream throw your tip in a jar
and sigh as you think about where your gonna go next year
The girl at the bar said why you wearin that frown?
I know how you feel, this place has got me so down
lets go for a drive, see if we can find, our happy place
when you need some time to find a little piece, of mind well these are days when you just gotta get away

Just get away, just get away

How much more can I take
about to lose my mind
well thats a part if me I may never find
trapped in a world, that wont let me change
got to find my place where I can just
Just get away, just get away, just get away
