They met in a hardware store on the main street of a small town.
The moment he laid eyes on her, he knew she was the one.
An age old case of "boy meets girl" turned out to be brand new,
when he said "can I help you , ma'am" it was 1942.

They fell in love and married in the Spring of '43.
Soon the sound of children's laughter joined the family.
The days turned into years. The kids turned out just fine.
Now they're viewin' the world from a porchswing, thinkin' 'bout what's left behind.
