Story Behind The Song
While we all look at the prize we sometimes forget that we can take comfort in the simplest of things and acknowledging that the struggle moulds us as people too. 'Broken love taught me how to see the man i wanna be' and 'Hey rock and roll you can have someone else cos i choose growing old, i wanna fall asleep in the vines' is my way of saying that it isn't about the crap that goes with the socalled 'rock and roll ethic' it's more to do with living life to your fullest because nobody knows what's around the corner.
Song Description
I wrote this round about the same time as my we found out that my mum had breast cancer and although it would be unfair to say the song from start to finish is about this there's a definite journey and maturing process going on, strength from all sides especially my mums as she beat it. x

Lyrics
I?m missin fire, but I?m blowin all the time
and the wind still sings in key
and I rectify mistakes I?ve made and friends I?ve left behind
you have the key to my heart
you seemed to light it from the start
you have the key to my heart
only you can light me up
Broken love has taught me how to see the man I wanna be
and the holy ghost says blessed is the man who crawls outside his skin, and that?s where it all begins
And the golden dream is a woman to love and kids to sing to sleep
So, hey rock and roll, you can have someone else cos? I choose growin? old
I wanna fall asleep in the vines
(I?ve always walked straight even when the road was broken
not knowing which path to take for my soul
and from my heart to my hands, this song is for you
and never worry mamma cos like an angel I?m always right beside you
it?s always you.)
