Story Behind The Song
I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 24, in 2005. The "captain" that I wish to banish is cancer, and ensure that it doesn't find my secret door and infiltrate my haven again. Any trial, smoking or alcoholism, depression, abuse, low self-esteem, these all can be overcome with the right atttitude and people assisting us.
Song Description
Life's hidden challenges sometimes take us out of commission for a while. The spirit of Wendy, in Peter Pan, is feisty and unyeilding. Taking on the attitude of a strong character, when your own character is weak, adds power and energy.
