Story Behind The Song
I wrote the song out of fustration seeing my brother suffer four years with cancer. He was a devouted father to his wife, four children and five grandchildren.
Song Description
My brother was a fire fighter for over twenty years. I called him many time for directions as he knew all the city streets in Madison WI. I didn't need to buy a city map. I did a lot of babysitting for my brother and very close to his family, and my reason for writing this song.

Lyrics
My Brother, My Friend
VERSE
I saw my brother standing mom and dad by his side. Not by a lonely gravesite, but in bright shining light. He had a smile on his face and called me by name. He said: Don't be sad now I'm rid of all the pain.
CHORUS
He was a fire fighter knew all our city streets. He was a loving a father who cared about his family. He was a good provider making our lives much brighter. From start to end! He was my brother my friend.
VERSE
I hear his voice in the wind, as he whispers in my ear, feel his touch walking in the rain, realize he is near. I find peace in knowing I'll see him again, until then there's much to do and I'll do what I can. (Repeat Chorus)
BRIDGE
Life is a gift, no one knows when it will cease. We can live life to its fullest and hope we find peace. (Repeat Chorus)
