Story Behind The Song
What can I say... I was in love, or lust, whatever you want to call it. I wrote a song about it. I suppose I'm bitter- I know how these things turn out- they fade or they explode violently. I managed to convey that jadedness in the final hook "And I've been here before and I know it's delusion".
Song Description
A floating, moving guitar-based ballad that illustrates the all-encompassing feeling of falling in love- but there is a sour note- the author realizes it is a fleeting fancy- "It's delusion".

Lyrics
Delusion
Music and Lyrics by Marianne Baker
Verse 1:
You are like sunlight on a rainy day
You are like every single cliché
You are what my skin has been aching for
You are the only man I'm waiting for
Chorus:
You make me feel
so lost
in confusion
and I've been
Here before
And I know...
It's delusion.
It's delusion.
Verse 2:
You are like a drug and I don't want to quit
You are the only thing I can't admit
(chorus)
It's delusion.
Just illusion...
