There's a certain relationship in my life that was very toxic to be in, but that doesn't mean I didn't love him. However, now that I am out of it, I am a better person, and I think so is he, so it's a desire for him to know that I care even more, if from afar, now that we're both healthier people since we're not together- it's hard, but the stronger, more responsible thing to do for someone you love that is not good for your life, is to leave them to be happy without you.
Song Description
When you're young an in love, you don't always see the truth of a person's being, just staying in the romantic, unrealistic part of a relationship. But even though these types of partnerships can fade, actually growing up and knowing a person can change, and seeing them for who they truly are can make for the start of a real friendship, despite how hard it is to let go the intimate side of things. It's actually a deeper love to have been through the smoke and mirrors of first love, and be friends eventually with the person you come to know later.
