Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song about parts of my life. No, I was never a prostitute! But, I had a boyfriend who resembled the man in the story. I wrote about my feelings of having seen just about everything at 18... I felt jaded at that time.

Lyrics
Jaded
Marghi Allen
(c) 1979
(Chorus)
Rain falls from the sky like
I fell on the night
I first saw you in the neon lights
That were flashing against the sky.
It was summer sweltering heat
And the gutters were dry
There was crystal down on the street
I was walking, talking high
In the bar rooms shuffling my feet
There wasn?t nothing that I wouldn?t try
I was jaded and fading away.
You were leaning against a brick wall
As I cam sauntering slowly by
I was headed straight for a fall
And you could see it in my eyes
You were dark skinned, sexy and tall
Lord, you looked like such a prize
You were jaded and fading away.
You said, ?Baby come on over here.?
And you looked me in the face
You said, ?Darling there ain?t nothing to fear.
It?s just a matter of time and space.
We could hang out, drink a few beers
And then go on up to my place.
Well, I?m jaded and fading away.?
42nd Street hooking, talking
To some creep dressed in suede
42nd Street cooking, walking
Well its hot in the shade
42nd Street looking, stalking
Wearing silver and jade
Well, I?m jaded
And I feel like I?m fading away
Jaded. And fading away.
