We are three part beings (Spirit, Soul, and Body) When you trust in Jesus Christ and his death, burial, and resurrection for salvation and not in your own goodness, your spirit is born again.
Your old spirit was crucified with Christ. You are a brand new person. Your body and soul didn't instantly change. God will be at work in your life helping you to grow. The rest of our life on earth (in the body) we live by faith in Jesus.
