Story Behind The Song
I use to own a Green Taurus Station Wagon, it was on it's last leg but I did everything I could to keep it running. I wrote this song and dedicated it to my car, in the hopes that it would get me to where I needed to go until I could afford something else. Eventually it died coming back from a show on I85 South. We left it there and it was towed by the state troopers. I went to the pound and handed over my title, said my last goodbye to the Green Wagon...

Lyrics
So what the passenger door keeps falling off. I need to buy new screws for it but I can?t afford what it cost.
My transmission keeps slipping on down the road (slippin slippin slippin slippin)
But I?m so glad that my heat works cuz this city gets cold and I pray (Oooooh) Every day
For my Green Wagon, to take me far and wide, cuz lord only knows what?ll happen if she started to die, baby please don?t die.
Lord knows that she has taught me many things. I can change tired, check my oil and make music while I sing. I wish I had the money to fix my ride, cuz I get tired of people staring at the big dent on the side, and I pray (Ooooooh) Every day
For my Green Wagon, to take me far and wide, cuz lord only knows what?ll happen if she started to die, baby please don?t die.
and I pray (Oooooh) Every day
For my Green Wagon, to take me far and wide, cuz lord only knows what?ll happen if she started to die, baby please don?t die.
We?re on our way down to music row. I hope that she can take me as far as we need to go.
