Homebound

Story Behind The Song

The song is about my relationship with my dad and about how he never listens to me and thinks he knows best. We always argue and writing the song was a good way of getting my feelings across. I wrote the song after an arguement we had.

Song Description

I wrote the lyrics to my song in about 5 minutes, after a heated row with my dad. I always write best when I'm going through some sort of emotional turmoil. The music came a few days after, when I was sitting at the piano, just experimenting with different chords. The song is about my relationship with my dad and about how he never listens to me and thinks he knows best. We always argue and writing the song was a good way of getting my feelings across. I wrote the song after an arguement we had.

Lyrics

What am I doing here? I don't wanna stay.
Eveytime that I feel sad, it makes me wanna run away.

How can you love someone, when you don't understand? I've stopped trying with you, now my voice is in my song and I'm homebound.

Why don't you listen? It seems I can't get through.
Every time that I walk out, my patience has run out on you.

How can you love someone, when you don't understand?
I've stopped trying with you, now my voice is in my song and I'm homebound.

Trippin' up over your words, isn't always clever. I won't catch you when you fall, I just wanna run forever.

Oooh, oooh.

How can you love someone, when you don't understand?
I've stopped trying with you, now my voice is in my song and I'm homebound.

Oooh, oooh.
I'm homebound.
