Ordinary Hero

Story Behind The Song

This song is dedicated to the thousands of men and women who are "silent" hero's in our lives because they perform acts of kindness and selflessness in their ordinary lives and may not even know it. I do believe there are hero's amoung us.

Lyrics

ORDINARY HERO

Written by: Lisa Norsworthy Courtney
October, 2002

The Ordinary Hero
Maybe someone that you know
Dad or Mother, Sis or Brother
Or the man who lives next door.

He may not be a Super-Star
Or have a Purple Heart,
But he?s always there to lend a hand
A candle in the dark.

Chorus:

You may not believe
How our lives are intertwined
From the brightest to the tiniest
Well, that?s alright by me
I believe?in

The Ordinary Hero
Maybe someone you meet by chance
A guardian angel in disguise
Someone watching over you.

His kindness is not a single act
But the fabric of his life
He may never know the mark he leaves
He may even save a life.

Chorus:

Now you may be a critic
And you may not believe
In the power of the human spirit
Well, that?s alright by me
I believe?in

The Ordinary Hero
Maybe someone just like you
An ordinary Joe going about his day
Trying to make a buck or two

But he has the courage to do what?s right
No matter what the price
Cause he represents the best of Man-
Kind and all humanity.

Chorus:

You may not believe
How our lives are intertwined
From the brightest to the tiniest
But that?s alright by me

Cause I believe?
In the Ordinary Hero
In you.

I believe..
In the Ordinary Hero
In our lives.
