Back to Grapevine

Story Behind The Song

This song is about my sister who is a genealogist and about our great, great, great grandparents farm house, The Nash Farm, being bought by the Grapevine Heritage Foundation and the restoration of it. The Nash Farm will be a National Historic Landmark on

Song Description

This is a well written song and I love the way it sounds (about family and roots). I've had some good reviews but I can't seem to get over the top with TAXI and get a forward. To me, its Bluegrass.

1st Verse:

My sister is a genealogist
And she searches for the cues
We?re looking through dusty chronicles
And archives for the answers.

Tarrant County is
The place to be
As we search
Our family tree.

My sister knows
How the story goes
And she shares it so
Everyone will know.

Chorus:

We?re going back in time
We?re going back to Grapevine
We?re traveling back in time,
We?re going to discover
And to uncover
Our roots in Grapevine.

2nd Verse:

The Nash Farm now is a National
Historical Landmark
We didn?t know Grandmother Pearl
Or her mother Sally Nash

But as we walk
Where they once walked
We feel connected
To them

Different times
And different lives
But we?re bound by blood
And heritage.

Chorus:

We?re going back in time
We?re going back to Grapevine
We?re traveling back in time.
We?re going to discover
And to uncover
Our roots in Grapevine.
