Hey Cowboy

Story Behind The Song

Hey Cowboy is a story of a man and woman attracted to one another in a Texas Country bar called the Silver Spur. The woman in the song is portrayed to a rose in Texas that only blooms in nighttime. The cowboy in this song out of infatuation of their chance meeting tells the cowgirl that no prettier rose was ever found in Texas as she is in the eyes of the cowboy who met her in the Silver Spur. That was the starting of their relationship as they both expressed their desire to dance their first dance with one another. This is a demo version of the song.

Song Description

Hey Cowboy is a piano duet in a country style genre. My niece and I sang this in studio and tells of 2 people meeting in a desert country bar and falling in love. This song touches that inner place we all know when out on the town looking for love. The lyric is very figurative.

Lyrics

Hey Cowboy, with leathers and silver spangles
Your long dark hair hides the sequins you wear
I've been watching you from across this smoke
filled bar room and all I can do is look at you and stare I've been riding alone on this lonely desert highway
Thought I'd stop a while and have myself a beer
They say the Silver Spur of Texas is a dream at sundown.
The lone star, a cowboy's only prayer
Hey Cowboy, I don't even know your name
My Cowboy, your like the desert wind
Hey Cowboy, you're a fire wild and free
Hey Cowboy, come dance with me
Seeing you walk across the floor you're a dream in motion
I never seen a cowboy quite like you
Lets steal the night through this Texas desert.
Just to count the stars and watch the desert moon
It's been said the desert rose blooms once at night time
The prettiest flower Texas ever knew
But no prettier rose I've seen
in this great state of Texas
You're the prettiest flower Texas ever grew
Hey Cowboy, lets ride thru the desert night
My Cowboy, I've got this burning deep inside
Hey Cowboy, your a fire, wild and free
Hey Cowboy, come dance with me, come dance with me,
come dance with me, Come dance with me.
