Story Behind The Song
A young friend of mine was in music school, studying the classics and developing her performance and songwriting skills on the side, in pop music. She felt she'd had learned enough from the academy and wanted to quit school and start her music career. I was inspired by her desire and believed in her talent. (Still do).
Song Description
Recorded in Santiago Chile, Mixed in Mexico City, Produced by member of Latin Grammy winning group "Sin Bandera". Loops, live percussion, drums, lots of motion in the bass, keys, several guitars and female leads and chorus.
(The following is the same as the short description) Female vocal grows over exotic Northern Brazilian percussion, on a groove fused with Latin American pop harmony and a sort of gringo folk melodic style. Lyrics speak of the coming of age of a girl who is ready and anxious to try her wings.

Lyrics
Tanslation from Spanish:
This girl feels butterflies
She imagines so many things that can't wait
She feels a whirlwind of wings, of songs,
Of desire to fly
This girl, full of doves
Speaks the language
And has a lot to sing
She knows that her essence is
is like an impatient swallow in flight
She needs to fly
And she's gonna rise
And she's gonna rise
She needs to try her wings
She knows the terrain
She hopes for the sky
And she's not about to give in
She knows what she wants
She hopes for whatever she can
Whatever she can dream
And she's gonna rise...
When she looks in the mirror
She doesn't confuse her reflection with anyone else's
She shines like a firefly
And she's gonna rise....
