(I Hope I Never Hear) Another Love Song Again

Story Behind The Song

I am a radio announcer in Atlanta, Ga and I had a vision of a man who is listening to the radio and hearing songs that reminded him of the love he just lost. Thinking that his lady is just as hurt as he is, he later finds that she wasted no time in finding love with his best friend.

Song Description

Lyrics

(I HOPE I NEVER HEAR)ANOTHER LOVE SONG AGAIN

RIDIN' HOME LATE ON NIGHT, I WAS LISTENING TO THE RADIO
DJ PLAYED A SONG I DIDN'T QUITE KNOW, I THINK IT WAS BY HANK SNOW
WITH WORDS LIKE I LOVE YOU, DO YOU LOVE ME TOO
T'WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE MY HEART STAND STILL
'CAUSE JUST THE OTHER NIGHT WE HAD SAID GOOD-BYE
AND WE KNOW IT WAS AGAINST OUR WILL.

AND SINCE WE SAW FIT TO CALL IT QUITS, I'M AS LONELY AS LONELY'S EVER BEEN
AND I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, ANOTHER LOVE SONG AGAIN.

(CHORUS)
MR. DJ PLEASE, WON'T YOU HANDLE WITH EASE THIS BROKEN HEART OF MINE
YOU SEE, I'VE GOT TO GET BACK TO MY BABY'S LOVE,
SO WE CAN TRY IT JUST ONE MORE TIME
AND SINCE WE SAW FIT TO CALL IT QUITS, I'M AS LONELY AS LONELY'S EVER BEEN
AND I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, ANOTHER LOVE SONG AGAIN.

A COMMERCIAL PAUSE AND A BRIEF NEWS BREAK, MR. DJ WAS AT IT AGAIN
PLAYING A SONG I HAD HEARD BEFORE, I THINK IT WAS BY LORETTA LYNN
WITH WORDS LIKE I MISS YOU, DON'T YOU MISS ME TOO,
T'WAS ENOUGH TO MAKE ME LOSE MY MIND
'CAUSE JUST THE OTHER NIGHT, WE HAD SAID GOOD-BYE
HOW COULD WE BE SO BLIND?

AND SINCE WE SAW FIT TO CALL IT QUITS, I'M AS LONELY AS LONELY'S EVER BEEN
AND I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, ANOTHER LOVE SONG AGAIN.

(REPEAT CHORUS)

WHEN HIS PROGRAM WAS OVER, I WAS IN MY ROVER
HEADING FOR MY BABY'S HOUSE AGAIN
FOUND HER THERE WITHOUT A CARE
SNUGGLED UP WITH MY BEST FRIEND
DRIVING HOME IN TEARS, FACING MY FEARS
OF A LIFETIME WITHOUT YOU
OUTSIDE I'M CRYING, INSIDE I'M DYING
I LOST A LOVE I THOUGHT WAS TRUE

AND SINCE WE SAW FIT TO CALL IT QUITS, I'M AS LONELY AS LONELY'S EVER BEEN
AND I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, ANOTHER LOVE SONG AGAIN
YES I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, I HOPE I NEVER HEAR, ANOTHER LOVE SONG AGAIN.
