I was dating a guy who was flat-out wonderful. Everything he did was selfless and based on love for me and everyone he came into contact with. I found myself pushing him away, telling him I wasn't ready for anything serious, and basically trying to end the relationship for no reason other than I was scared. I was afraid he was going to be it for me, that I would fall so hopelessly in love that there would either be no going back, or I'd get my heart broken. This song came in a moment of clarity as I realized how much I really cared for him, despite the fact that I was trying to push him away and hide from my feelings.
