The Ring or The Bar

Story Behind The Song

I wanted to write a song from a woman's point of view. Something with a twist that gave the guy a decision to make. He can choose the bar with the guys or ring with his girlfriend.

Song Description

This song is about a woman who is tired of being home while her boyfriend goes out with the guys. She is looking for a commitment and tells him can either go out with the guys tonight and they're through or he can stay home with her.

The Ring or The Bar
Written By
Ken Love

Are you going drinking tonight?
Are you going out with the guys?
I need to know right now what you?re gonna do.

You?re looking at me like I?ve lost my mind.
Maybe it?s cause there?s not a tear in my eye.
I?m not gonna wait around anymore for you.

(Chorus)
It?s the ring or the bar ? the choice is up to you.
But I need to know right now what you?re gonna do.
I?m not gonna wait around anymore for you.
It?s the ring or the bar ? so tell me what you?re gonna do.

I?ve been waiting patiently for you to decide.
But I?m not gonna wait any longer, you need to make up your mind.
You go can out with the guys tonight
Or stay home with me for the rest of your life.
The choice is up to you, but you must decide.

(Chorus)
It?s the ring or the bar ? the choice is up to you.
But I need to know right now what you?re gonna do.
I?m not gonna wait around anymore for you.
It?s the ring or the bar ? so tell me what you?re gonna do.

It?s the ring or the bar ? the choice is up to you.
It?s the ring or the bar so tell me what you?re gonna do.
