Falling Star (Sarah's Lullaby)

Story Behind The Song

This song was written for a friend of mine who lost his young daughter to leukemia. I remembered one night as a child, watching a falling star with my mother. I asked her what it was, because it frightened me. She told me that a falling star represented a soul going to heaven. That when a person died, the soul became a star that fell through the sky into God's hands. I believed that story then as I do today.

Lyrics

Falling, falling so far
Just one of many in the heavens, you are
Falling, falling so far
He who has made you recalls a falling star.

You didn?t shine for long
but you always shared your light
So beautiful! So bright!
Shoot across the sky and fall in his arms
Hold on! Hold on!

Onward and onward you speed through the night
If the man in the moon don?t stop looking,
He might catch you falling,

Falling so far.
Just one of many in the heavens you are
You are falling, falling so far,
He who has made you recalls a falling star.
