Lyrics
For the Light
Right in my backyard there's an big magnolia tree
full of delicate, pink blossoms that smell so sweet
it's one the most beautiful things that I've ever seen.
But before my very eyes, the petals fall down to the ground.
I realize they prepared the way for new life to abound.
There's a lesson here and it's becoming clear
Everytime we seem to fall, we really fly.
It doesn't matter if we're doing wrong or perfectly right.
'Cause there's a point of surrender in everything we try
When we're just making way for the light.
making way for the light
I watch my babies growing up and I can hardly get enough.
How they're turning out so sweet is still a mystery to me.
They're a beautiful, amazing blessing to me.
Always trying so hard to do the right thing
and although they make mistakes,they are only learning
There are lessons here and it's becoming clear
Everytime we seem to fall, we really fly.
It doesn't matter if we're doing wrong or perfectly right.
'Cause there's a point of surrender in everything we try
when we're just making way for the light.
making way for the light..
If a tiny seed can grow into a forest;
if a baby boy can grow into a man;
if I can just let go of my pretenses
then I can follow your fool-proof plan.
Everytime we seem to fall, we really fly.
It doesn't matter if we're doing wrong or perfectly right.
'Cause there's a point of surrender in everything we try
When we're just making way for the light.
making way for the light...
