Story Behind The Song
This song provides a humorous and fable-like setting, in which I envision the Llanos or great savannas of eastern Colombia to be freed from the violence ("the devil") that engulfs them.

Farewell To The Devil
In the great Llanos they saw a stork fly. In his beak he carried the devil, who was kicking and squirming incessantly. Behind followed an entire procession of herons, vultures, egrets, owls, kingfishers, parrots, macaws, and toucans.
When they arrived at the river, they dropped the devil in it, and all the birds returned happily to the thicket. And to that shore, which is home to the caimans, the agoutis, the armadillos, the turtles, and the tapirs, arrived foxes, deers and ant eaters, and they all cheered together:
"The Llanos have been freed, the devil has been flushed away!"
