Glacier (acoustic version)

Story Behind The Song

I was in love with someone who was not available at the time!

Song Description

This is a song about wanting to fall in love, but being afraid to. Afraid because the person is somehow forbidden to you, or afraid because of past hurts. The idea is that it's better to stay cool, solid, stuck where you are, than to let on that you feel that you could absolutely melt with this person. It's a song of longing.

Lyrics

If I can be like a glacier
Noone would see how you move me
And if I can stay cool and solid
You won't believe that I'm melting

But I could be water over a stone

If I can keep holding on here
Quiet and tall, then I won't fall
Turn my face up, watch the blue sky
Wind in my ears, then I won't hear

Your voice like water over a stone

Layers deep and weathered
But some things last forever
I won't look so I won't see

River run deep, wind down to me
Wear down my edge with the words that you've said
Come on run fast, pull me to you
Close to your side, into you I'll slide

Then we would be water over a stone.
