Story Behind The Song
I've been watching documentaries including An Inconvenient Truth. Though I wrote this one after watching a National Geographic series on the impact that humans have had on the earth over the last century, In the middle of writing the song I glanced up at a Cree Indian Prophecy poster on my wall which inpsired that last vers to sum up the song. The poster reads: Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.

Lyrics
In my mind I know the world is dying
All around you see the people running
Do they know which way to run to
Do they know exactly what they?re running from?
We don?t see the fertile land before we touched it
We don?t hear the bird who sang before we landed
Can you have a paradise
with a million pair of eyes who think they found it?
A little green can go a long way
You and me we?re moving away from a life we can sustain
A little green can go a long way
You and me we?ve got a world, a stomping ground to save
All around the world
The temperature is rising
Things are heating up you see it everyday
On the news it?s a disaster
It?s a desperate times the laughter?s gone away
Yet there?s plenty of warnings signs displayed
Even still money looks the other way
If it ain?t good for the business
Then you ain?t got no business coming this way
Only after the last tree has been cut down
Only after the last river?s been mistreated
Only after nature is poisoned will we realize
gold coins cannot be eaten
A little green can go a long way
You and me we?re moving away from a life we can sustain
A little green can go a long way
You and me we?ve got a world, a stomping ground to save
