Never Thirst Again

Story Behind The Song

The human condition is fraught with questions of meaning and purpose, feelings of emptiness, suffering over relational discord, angst about a past we can't change and a future we can't control. No matter what the circumstances, Jesus calls out to us and says, "Come to me for rest, for living water, so that you never have to thirst again." This song reflects my own journey to discover this in my relationship with Christ.

The song alludes to difficult situations people face in life, but the chorus offers an answer.

Lyrics

Water can be thicker than blood
And the innocence of childhood turned to dust
Memories of yesterday are burned inside your mind
They echo in the hollow of your heart

Evening holds no respite from your dreaded thoughts
That speak to you and keep you up at night
Evidence of skeletons that are not yet laid to rest
When all you want to do is feel at peace

Chorus:
Hear the voice that is calling out to you
He?s calling out from the desert
?Come to me, rest in me?
Come drink the water that I give?
Never thirst again.?

You?ve reached for the stuff of earth to fill you
Wandered through the wilderness in search of some great purpose
Filled your days with causes, conversation and distraction
But nothing takes away that emptiness

Chorus

Bridge:
?Never thirst again,
Never feel empty again,
Come find your peace,
All your burdens release,
Taste the living water,
Drink the living water,
When you come to me.?

Taste the living water
Drink the living water
When you come to me

Memories of yesterday are burned inside your mind
And all you want to do is feel at peace

Chorus
