Story Behind The Song
My roomate had a really nice girlfriend, but he wasn't particularly nice to her. I never really understood why girls stay with guys who don't treat them well. I think many times people don't totally love another, but they stay because they feel comfortable or content being in a relationship. The person I wrote this song about had trouble being alone I think. This song puts my feelings for her out there and tells her not to stay in her current relationship just because it's comfortable.
Song Description
This song imagines an encounter with someone I wanted but could not have because she was dating my roomate.

Lyrics
Verse 1
It?s one eighth of an inch more
Until you?re through my door
With nothing left to be said
We both fall on my bed
And it?s strange feeling
This way when you?re leaving
It?s one eighth of an inch more
Until your shirt hits my floor
Next time hopefully
You?ll call me for company
If you see me
And I look sadly
It's because I can?t sleep babe
Until you dream safe
Chorus 1
While you look so lonely
I need somebody
Don?t mistake in being
Comfortable love
While you have been lying
I have been dying
To feel what you what you feel like
Hallelujah
Verse 2
One eighth of an inch more
The clock ticks past four
Only seemed like a minute
You know, I know
I guess that?s just how it goes
If you are lonely
And I'm your one and only
Well I?ll be happy
Just to see you smile
Chorus 2
While you have been crying
I?ve been capsizing
All through my sleep
Just thinking of you
While you have been wasting
I?ve not been hasty
In expressing my feelings
Like you always do
Love love
Picks me up out of this flood
Never can say I?ve had enough
You know it's true
I?ve never felt like this until you
I keep on glancing around this room
Looking for some signal to
Keep on reaching out for you
