Story Behind The Song
Inspired by my visits to my mother, as well as other relationships with the 65+ people in my life. Some are truly living life with the support of loved ones and society. Some, alone, ill, or surviving the death of their partner, are simply waiting to die. This song is about the latter.
Song Description
Stripped-down guitar-vocal ballad, sung by a male commenting on the loneliness and neglect of America's elderly living on their own or in poorly run nursing homes. Intimate and sad, a la Elliott Smith, et. al.

Lyrics
Sunday come, Sunday go
same old windows and walls
kiss my forehead
hold my hand
promise me you'll call
Sunday come, Sunday go
Sunday come, Sunday go
walk with me, unlock the door
can't remember
can't recall
the nameless faces scattered on the wall
Sunday come, Sunday go
Promise me
oh promise me
promise me you'll call me by name
Sunday come, Sunday go
sing me Amazing Grace
promise me
you'll pray for me
coud you pull the covers up to my face
Sunday come, Sunday go
