Story Behind The Song
Bob Ann and Mickey's Farm is a real place near Corydon, IN where I used to go as a kid. It was a 40 acre "farm" owned by Carl and Barbara Ann Becker. We called them "Bob Ann and Mickey". This was not a working farm but rather a place where about my family went just about every weekend to relax and have fun. Most weekends there were lots of my parents friends there and we rode horses, fished, played softball, shot guns at tin cans, and sat around on the porch at night singing and playing guitar. It was great place. They sold the farm back in the mid 80's and I have missed the place ever since.

Bob Ann and Mickey?s Farm

Cruising out to the countryside, gonna soak in some sun.
Left our worries behind to have some fun.
Rolling fast on a gravel road, dust is flying behind.
Folks along the way don?t seem to mind.
And when we reach the place where road comes to an end,
Just swing the gate and honk your horn, and just drive on in.
Here at Bob Ann and Mickey?s Farm there?s a lot to see.
And I know that I love this place cause it?s a better part of me.
Ride the horses and play some ball, The pond looks right for a swim.
Shoot some cans, and then set ?em up again.
Now I?m hearing the dinner bell, lots of chicken to eat.
I like this place ?cause you don?t have to wipe your feet.
And when the sun is low and the day is almost done.
It?s time to get those guitars out, so everyone can sing along.
Here at Bob Ann and Mickey?s Farm there?s a lot to see.
And I know that I love this place ?cause it?s a better part of me.
