Story Behind The Song
The first 2 Verses are just a play on words , from a saying we had as teenagers , when we saw a beautiful Girl or Woman walking down the street , we would say "There should be law against that" , meaning they were just far too good looking , Hence the lines "They Say It's Illegal " & "Such a jailable offense" . The Choruses came about from funny stories , over the years , of Personal , Family & Friends experiences. The whole song is really just about fun , with lots of humour .

Lyrics
Bit Like An Earthquake
© Words & Music - John Fitzgerald 1991
They say it?s illegal , they say it?s untrue
Now that she looks like heaven & she knows it too
Got the face of an angel , got the body to match
I?m gone fishin? boys , got somethin? to catch
An? it?s a Bit Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
Said it?s a Bit Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
So damn obscene , such a jailable offence
Now I might get caught , but I?ll take that chance
They say it?s addictive , well honey I?m hooked
Get down here we?ll take a second look
An? it?s a Bit Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
So much Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
California , has got nothin? on you
San Andreas fault line , we got a shock for you
They keep tellin? me , she?s heaven sent
Well if I can?t afford the price , hey my mama can I rent
An? it?s a Bit Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
Too much Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
I get home around half past four , find you tryin? to nail the bed to the floor
An? it?s a Bit Like An Earthquake makin? love to you
I?m a cruisin?
Out on this Friday night
You?re such food for thought baby
I got the appetite
Such an appetite
