Epiphany (Poem)

Song Length 2:20 Genre Spoken Word - Poetry

Lyrics

Words only for now as I'm traveling. This poem / song is dedicated to all those who "borrow" words from others - imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

Epiphany

I had a thought
I had a dream
I had to cope
I couldn't scream
I saw your face
Smile back at me
A little hope
and misery
So I picked a word
To set me free
She had a name
Epiphany

I picked a word
I picked a name
Buy what's the angle?
What's the game?
I couldn't tell
Who she could be
Though I tried
To set her free
In this light
I couldn't see
She called herself
Epiphany

She stole my words
She stole my soul
She stole my heart
She took me whole
I took my troubles
Out to sea
I took them
On the road with me
In all this trying
To be free
I miss you most
Epiphany

The Japanese
In cowboy hats
The buggy men
Lie on the flat
The Father, Son
The Holy three
Hang me from their
Hanging tree
And all this time
I tried to see
But couldn't find
Epiphany

In an attempt
To set our spirits free
We seek to find
who we can be
Love suffers long
Love's never free
We can only hope
Eternally
Yes the Father, Son
The Holy three
Can't help me find
Epiphany

Out of body
Out of mind
The experience was yours
Not mine
As I wander down
These streets for free
I wait for my Epiphany
We're so different
You and me
But I love you most
Epiphany
