Story Behind The Song
As a baseball enthusiast I wanted to write a song that parallels my faith in God. The story talks about going through the motions of playing the game and in reality we all play the game of life and sometimes we have great playing days and sometimes we fall short.
Song Description
A song that is hopeful, a song that is relatable like baseball is and a song that encourages others to give credit to where credit is due. Not to the things that can wither and fade but to God who is forever.

Glory To The One Above

I'm stepping up to the batters box
I've got my brand new bat and my helmet on
I'll try to swing when the timings right
But sometimes I miss and I get uptight
I'll run the bases full speed ahead
I see home plate now and my face is red
Come sliding in now I've made the play
But tomorrow is yet another day
Chorus
I'll give glory to the one above
Not my brand new bat or my baseball glove
I'm practicing in the batting cage
Trying to take my game to another stage
I'm spending time to perfect my swing
Now my aim is clear and it's just one thing
Bridge
I'll put my best foot in the playing field
Now and then I fall but it doesn't change the field
Chorus
