Story Behind The Song
True to life story. I am currently living in Nashville trying to live out my music dream and one day I woke up and checked my banking balance. To my suprise it was down to 3.00 and that was all I had left.
Song Description
Turning a desperate situation into a hopeful one by looking at life from this point. When you have hit complete rock bottom financially, there is really no place but up to go from there. So this song was written from that place of desperation. So to say that I am in need of landing this commercial would be an understatement. Please pick me, please.

Lyrics
It Can Only Go Up From Here
By Jim Vilandre 9:10 Am Friday Sept. 10th, 2010

Verse 1
Down to my last three dollars
Bill collectors like to holler pay me first
I'd like to say in this down economy
I'd take another job but it's hard to see
When I'm already working my fingers to the bone
I can feel that I am not alone
Chorus
It can only go up from here
I can hear the whole crowd start to cheer
Singing away my broke sorrows one thing is clear
It can only go up from here
Verse 2
Waiting on the next pay check
Hoping it will cover all my rent
But there's only so far that it will stretch
I need the gas money pronto
So my car can drive me down to
The job that barely gets me by today
And we ask why and pray
Chorus
Bridge
So when I get that next windfall of cash
I am gonna celebrate like it will be my last
So let's raise up a toast, to being broke it's no joke
So drink a toast with me to hope and change
Chorus
It can only go up
Up from here
