What Can I Tell You

Story Behind The Song

The song was inspired by a line in a friend's student film. That line became the title. I turned it on its head by making only one answer work: "I'm in love." And then it nearly wrote itself.

Song Description

This song harkens back to the days of Gershwin & Porter and the Great American Songbook. A new look at love and the simple joy of admitting you're smitten. It's upbeat, bouncy, and will put a smile on your face.

Lyrics

starry eyes
butterflies
no surprise
I go on as I do
thought you knew
well, what can I tell you?
I'm in love

if I may
start to sway
more your way
I'm inspired by the view
well, it's true
well, what can I tell you?
I'm in love

kiss me
and I'm riding on the wind
until, my darling, our goodbye
leaves the moon and I
so blue
so blue

ever drawn
to the dawn
when you're gone
still a song lingers on
all night through
well, what can I tell you?
I'm in love
