Story Behind The Song
I awoke on a Sunday morning, after having consumed some rather potent Rum cocktails the previous evening...Now, still a bit 'bleary' I proceeded to sit down at my console and compose, and within 2-3 hours...this is what came of it. I actually PLAYED the piano parts involved, and applied the delay passes after the fact, and it turned out pretty well, what do YOU think?
Song Description
Having seen the newest Mistubishi and Nissan commercials utilizing electronic music, I thought to myself: "Wouldn't it be cool if I came up with a tune that emphasizes speed and motion for a commercial of my own?" The rhodes loop at the beginning was created from my Rhodes, and placed into the sequencer software, Reason, as a Sample. The "Slap Bass" is from the Reason Factory Soundbank. The delayed piano is hand played to the beat(with a click-track)and I smoothed some of the velocity values during post-editing... The Vibraphone that enters in the latter part of the song is also from the Reason Factory Soundbank. Percussion and Drum Kits were triggered into Reason thru my Roland V-Drums, played "live" with a click track, and utilizing the Reason sampled drum kits in the "ReDrum" module.
