Story Behind The Song
We were struggling to come up with a song to replace one that wasn't working. I was toying with this idea and played it for my producer. He didn't like the lyrics and suggested a different chord progression. Then he took me aside and told me he remembered the hell I went through with my first marriage and suggested I write more on that line. By the time I got home the song was finished.
Song Description
Thinking through the strengths and weaknesses of a relationship on the road to going bad.
There is a resignation to this fact and there is a realization that even though hard work may salvage what is left the gains may not be worth the price.

Lyrics
Just Before The Storm
I used to think when the dust settled down
And the road was not so long
That you and I, we would draw the line
Between what's right and wrong
Every year, every tear
Every restless night
Wash over me, endlessly
Will we ever see the light
When the night is still
And the wind is warm
We could lose our will
Just Before The Storm
Just Before The Storm
I can't believe you would want to leave
After all that we've been through
Every trial and every time
We pulled each other through
Through the rain, through the thunder
Through the darkest night
How many times have I sat and wondered
Is this worth the fight
When the night is still
And the wind is warm
We could lose our will
When the moon is full
And our hearts are torn
We could lose it all
Just Before The Storm
Just Before The Storm
