Stop Thinkin' About

Story Behind The Song

The reason I wrote this song was because my good friend was grieving over a relationship with someone that ended suddenly. She felt as though the other person had died because they completely lost contact after having been so close. I wrote this song for her.

Song Description

The song starts out with a feeling that someone who was a part of you has died suddenly. It talks about the obsession with fear and how it wastes so much time. The song is about releasing that fear. "Take your love" is the exclamation point at the end of this process.

Lyrics

Whatever happened to you?
There?s been no procession to see you sleeping
No place to lay the flowers and still I?m weeping
I wish there didn?t have to be a song
Letting go of tomorrow?s already gone
How did I get myself here?
The other side of me just disappeared

Stop thinkin? about
The time I?ve wasted
Stop thinkin? about
The dreams we?re not chasing

Take your love
Take it down
Take your love
Take it down

Stop thinkin? about
Everytime I was left behind
Stop thinkin? about
Money like it can?t be mine
Stop thinkin? about
Eyes always following me
Stop thinkin? about
My time coming

Take your love
Take it down
Take your love
Take it down

Whatever happened to you?
There?s been no procession to see you sleeping
No place to lay the flowers and still I?m weeping
I wish there didn?t have to be a song
Letting go of tomorrow?s already gone
How did I get myself here?
The other side of me just disappeared
