Story Behind The Song
I began writing the song for a wedding to compensate for the "divorce songs" in my repertoire. Somewhere in the process it became a very personal self study in what I truly believed...in what I would risk letting myself believe in... again.
Song Description
The song poses rhetorical questions about hope, faith, faithfulness and whether or not true love and heaven exist. In the early verses the husband-to-be answers each question with "I do". In the final verse, after the instrumental break symbolizes the passing of time, the young groom is now the father of the bride and answers with "Her mom and I do".

Lyrics
I Do
Jeffrey W. Posey
Who's gonna take this pretty young bride
Before the eyes of a Father say he'll treat her right
Who vows his heart to her will be true?
Who believes in hope at first sight
You know what you feel and you pray that it's right
Who believes that hope needs faith too?
I do
Who believes that heaven is real
You can find it on earth when you share what you feel
Who believes in forever with you?
I do
I do believe true love as a rule Is real as the
moon not the dream of a fool
And I believe it was meant for me and you
Yes, I do
Who believes that the sun and the rain
In the right arms are one and the same
Who believes what they believe is true?
I do
Who believes in the gray that lies
Between and around all the black and white
Who ask forgiveness and offers it too?
I do
Who gives away this pretty young bride
A smile in your heart and a tear in your eye
Who wants her to know that she will always have you?
Her mom and I do
I do
