My sister recently retired and moved from Dallas to Tyler, Texas. I talked to her one day no the phone and asked what she was doing and she said was drinking tea on the deck. So I say, "Oh, it's tea time in Tyler". And the song was born from there.

A good ol Texas boy who spent most of his adult life drifting around, finally finds someone to settle down with and drink tea instead of whiskey.
