Starting Over Again

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this song after falling asleep in the studio trying to work out the last tune for the "Through My Eyes" album. I had this song come to me while half asleep, the whole thing, arrangements, sounds, vocals, instruments. It took 1 hour to get it down.

Song Description

This is a song which describes my feelings and experiences of trying to establish a career in the music industry and the pitfalls and restarts and reinventions of myself I've had to do along the way, and the price I've paid for the effort.

Lyrics

It was just like any other one of those days,
I started walking down the road of memories of my yesterdays,
And I realized somewhere along I the line I strayed,
I've got to find some way to turn my life around again some way,

But I'm back,
And I know I've made mistakes,
And I know in the end I've got to pay so I'll take what I can take,
But if only I could realize the things that I forget,
I'd leave behind those yesterdays, never look the other way,

Cause I hear it,
It's calling my name,
And I can't believe it is it all in vain,
It's just a feeling that I can't explain,
So please don't deceive me,
Am I starting over again?,

So here I am,
Just a face without a name,
Looking for someone to take it,
Looking for someone to blame,

But I'm back,
And I know it sounds insane,
But I'm gonna try another time for the fortune and the fame,

Cause I hear it,
It's calling my name,
And I can't believe it is it all in vain,
It's just a feeling that I can't explain,
So please don't deceive me,
Am I starting over again?,

Cause I can't believe how the time has faded away,
What I wouldn't give for a moment of yesterday,
And I realize all the lives I've lost on the way,

Cause I hear it,
It's calling my name,
And I can't believe it is it all in vain,
It's just a feeling that I can't explain,
So please don't deceive me,
Am I starting over again?
