Story Behind The Song
When I was a little younger...OK a lot younger, all I wanted was to be a rock star. I worked very hard at my music, quit high school to play music, alienated my friends and family for my music, and to a degree, got what I thought I wanted. But in the process I got lost somewhere and had a real tough time finding out that music isn't money, doesn't bring you automatic respect, you know, all the stuff us grownups know. So I'm in the process of finding the guy that I really liked a long time ago. I still love music, and all the stupid stuff I did gave me a LOT to write about.
Song Description
Earlier in my life I wanted some particular things very badly. I worked hard to achieve these things only to realize that I suddenly was being a guy I didn't even know anymore, much less even like.

Lyrics
V1:
Brother brother, don't you wanna play the game, win or lose, your soul it stays the same.
Sister sister don't you need the cash, win or lose, you gotta hold that stash.
Jump jump, put them in a pretty row, dollar dollar, that's the only thing they know.
Talk talk, they watch you show your stuff, over and done but it's never near enough.
Bridge / chorus:
All of that, and a little truth don't hurt
V2:
Chance chance, put it on the line, since you don't want it, i'm gonna make it mine.
Smile smile, keep it all in line, seems to you a half truth is all the time.
Run run, all you do is run and hide, when the chips are down you're the first to fade and slide.
Bridge / chorus:
All of that, and a little truth don't hurt.
Lead / V3:
Stop stop, won't you stop and think, can't you see, you're gonna feel that sting.
Wait wait, sitting by the phone, when it doesn't ring you wonder why you're all alone?
Maybe maybe you thought you had some friends, looking back that was all a sad pretense.
Over over, now it's all been said and done, you're winding down and you're way to old to run.
Bridge / chorus:
All of that and a little truth don't hurt.
End.
