Story Behind The Song
The song is sort an allegory. I just wanted to summarise the story of life struggles and salvation with indirect pictures. I am the pilgrim. The cross represents salvation. The voice of the son of man is God's spirit speaking to me through fellow men. The man on the cross is Christ, my saviour and redeemer.
Song Description
I'm a pilgrim on a journey through life. I lost track in a wild & wicked world (www). Tried to get out of the web, only to be fooled severally by false clues. I got desperate and about to give up. Then from within rose the silent voice of a man unknowned..."Look for the cross. Set your spirit free"
In faith I heeded this one last urge. Followed a sign that lead to the cross. Beyond the cross was a bright beam of light... the light of salvation. And on the cross hung a man. He must have paid the ultimate price for my redemption

Lyrics
PILGRIM & THE CROSS
Verse 1
The night is cold
Chill wind piercing through my lonely heart
I've wandered for too long
Please wait for me
I thought I saw you coming through
I thought you are the one I've been looking for
I lost my track
Alone I roam this wild 'n' wicked world
Searching for salvation
I saw sign
This way leads you to the cross
I heard the voice of the son of man speaking to my spirit, saying:
Chorus
Hey! Salvation is near
Look for the cross
Set your spirit free
Hey! Redemption is near
Look for the cross
Set your spirit free
Verse 2
Weary in my soul
I walked down a lonely road
From a distance, I saw a man hanging on a cross
Then suddenly
Light came shining down on me
I heard the voice of the son of man speaking to my spirit, saying
Repeat chorus
Bridge - Hausa (African) chant
