Verse 1:
It was august 28th, 2005 down by the bayou in New Orleans when the Mississippi cried.
Lake Ponchatrain managed severe damage to levy, but my people down in New Orleans wasn?t ready
None the less still Katrina came and made a name for her self and brought with her winds of change and punishing rain.
And what began as just a gust of wind became more insane than that day on 9-11 when them planes
landed on Manhattan
back in Baton rouge they were asking where was Fema while Katrina was attacking
fact is they were tracking her for weeks before happened, Question- while New Orleans sank where was the captain?
Packing and evacuating all you?ve ever known ain?t so easy when you penniless and paralyzed and New Orleans is home.
I cried for every soul; when I wrote down this poem Knowing all that I can do is pray for em.

Chorus:

If my people who are called by my name would just, humble themselves and pray, seek my face, turn away from their evil ways then I-I can hear what they say (2) X

Bridge:

To all my people who are called by my name
I promise I will keep them straight so they won?t go astray
All they need to do is fall to their knees and pray no circumstance or heartache that I can?t mend if they just call my name.

Verse 2:

My heart cries for the M-I double crooked letter I double crooked letter I double P I and every one who died.
5 days after the flood survivors tried to find direction plus the one that they love.
And what our government does simply wasn?t enough to help these people undiscovered under rubble and mud.
Big Mamma use to tell me big stories bout the Big easy, I never got to see it for myself just TV
But I know if she could see the southern city she loves up under water, she would send some help from heaven above.
I heard somebody say that down by the Delta they was lucky, but I?d like to see them tell that to somebody from Biloxi.
What happened to the hummers, helicopters and planes to search for people in them houses like they searched for Hussein.
I guess the greed just superceded the need, all the troops our people needed was somewhere over seas.
