Story Behind The Song
Spent Super Bowl 45 Sunday in DC with my dad and brother; the Steelers have won 2 in my lifetime but I couldn't watch either one with my dad. Woe is me, right, but we could watch this one together, dammit, and the Steelers fucked it up terribly. We stormed out of my hotel afterwards and walked all over, staring at all the monuments, and the loss was placed in greater context of pain and triumph. The last verse especially hits on that; the rest also takes a lot from a concurrent revisiting of the X-Files, up until the Jesus Mulder episode - eesh.
Song Description
Jacked-up reggae beat, guitar slicing like automated axe-blades, and boiling bass sliding all over the pharmaceutically stained rantings of a possibly official kidnap victim in the Capitol.

Lyrics
said it'd make me blind so it made me blind
rolling on the grey light on the inside of my eyes
white stripe is a beer
the red stripes are the band
and i ain't seen the blue field til these certain nerves go dead
i'm riding out a bad reaction
i'm riding out a bad reaction
tastes like blood hooked up to batteries of memories i sold
leave the body at the hospital with chemicals i stole
see the bright man through the windshield
asking if i feel the pinprick
then i get a little lost
(everything they want you to believe
you can find in some carefully orchestrated
bullshit youtube video of some kid making balloon animals
to all the itunes new releases)
last i can remember i'm on the megabus
next day grabbed a beer and hit the monuments
you'll never bitch about the recent past
on the back end of the lincoln watching arlington at dawn
i'm riding out a bad reaction
i'm riding out a bad reaction
i'm riding out a bad reaction
i'm riding out a bad reaction
