Clash Individual (Instrumental)

Story Behind The Song

I wrote this after establishing myself in college at Johnson State College, in Johnson, VT. I was carrying along a lot of anger and aggression being so held back and repressed during High School, and I had just gotten out of an annoying little romantic involvment, and I wanted to write a song that said "Damn, I'm pissed" but still be very upbeat and melodic. It was really the first step into defining my new happy, upbeat personality. Clash Individual means the "clash" of genres in the song itself, while the title is a play on words: "Class Individual," an honor I received in my High School Yearbook, which was a kind of final "fuck you" to everyone who tortured and ostracized me ever since I had moved to that terrible place in New Jersey in 1996.

The second song I created on my PowerBook G4, using GarageBand and a bunch of public domain loops. The synth loop near the middle I composed myself.
