Story Behind The Song
I've lost an inordinate amount of close friends throughout my life. I wrote this song for them. I think anybody who's lost someone special to them will cherish this song.
I heard the whole finished song in my head as I woke up one morning.
Song Description
The melancholy female and male vocals of Fleetwood Mac, the shimmering harmonies of ELO, the other-worldly instrumentation of "Time" by Alan Parsons Project, the modern sound of Radiohead.

Lyrics
Slipped Away:
Said you want to live
Said you want to get away
Down an unknown road
Said you'll find a home
When I saw your face
When I looked into your eyes
Had to catch my breath
You're my one regret
Slipped Away_____________
As a moth to flame
towards a beautiful mistake
So we sailed straight on
Through the long "so long"
I could stay right here
But I couldn't watch you walk away
Down an unlit path
Towards the aftermath
Slipped Away______________
Say you want to live, you know you've got to get away
When I heard that day
When I heard you slipped away
Had to catch my breath
You're my one regret
Slipped Away_____________
