Story Behind The Song
It's about being sick and tired of the rat race and pressures of work and wanting to escape to the beach with your friends.
Song Description
Getting ready for work on a beautiful sunny day, one reflects on their life. They are tired of the day to day pressures of work and wonder why they keep going down that path. They know they have friends living a life they wish they had, and knows he/she need to make a change. On the drive to work, a fork in the road presents itself, this person can ether to go to work or meet their friends on the beach. The decision is made to live life and join friends on the beach. Once he/she takes that exit, they put the ragtop down and put their sunglasses on and electrified by the excitement, can't remember when they've felt so alive. Once they get on the beach, they all celebrate a life worth living as they are having a beach party, listening to Jimmy Buffett, reminising, and leaving their troubles behind. That is where they feel the happiest they have ever felt because they are so far away from the mundane everyday life. The song visually culminates with a group of people sitting around a campfire on the beach at night feeling that this is how life needs to be, So Far Away........

Lyrics
Woke up this morning another sunny day
Looking out the window wondering why
There's someone on the beach just watching the tide
And man I wish that could be me
With a little luck that could be me
Headlines deadlines waiting for me on the front lines
There's no time for fun today
I need to break these chains that have a hold on me
Just climb aboard and sail away
And I don't know why I am here anyway
So far away
So far away
I take that exit and roll my window down
I know right where my friends will be
Put down the ragtop and put my sunglasses on
Just turn up the radio and drive
And I can't remember when I've felt so alive
Cause I'm Far away
so far away
We listen to Jimmy sing about how things should be
As we reminisce old times
We could feel the sea breeze wash away the troubles from our lives
As we all lost track of time
And we can't remember when we've felt so alive
Cause were far away
So far away
So far away
