Story Behind The Song

Song Description
While watching American Idol gives back and seeing the pictures of children suffering in other parts of the world, I wrote my feelings down and put it to song. I have never wished that it was I who was starving or fleeing my home or country, but I have wished that I were doing all I could to help those who are.

Lyrics
"Let It Be Me" - ã2008 Heather Duncan
Vs 1: I've seen tear-stained cheeks, Eyes filled with fear
A land far away, And yet so near
I try to imagine, How it would be
But I've never said "Let it be Me"
Chorus: So Let it be me
To lift my voice and make it heard
Above the crowd, the noise so loud
Let it be me
Who hears the cries and wipes their eyes
Who walks in peace, among the least
Let it be me
Vs 2: Its not so big this world of ours
And who's to say what's mine, what's yours
This life's not fair, that's plain to see
But I've never said "Let it be me"
Chorus
Bridge: You're my sister, my brother
You're my father, my mother
Chorus
